BOISE, IDAHO – The Alaska Aces scored on the powerplay, while shorthanded, in a 4 on 4 situation and while at full strength 5 on 5 in a 6-1 conquest of the Idaho Steelheads Wednesday at the Century Link Arena. Idaho got things going scoring-wise as Andre-Bouvet Morrissette reeled in a pass from Emil Molin in the left circle and rifled a shot top shelf, glove side of Alaska goaltender Troy Redmann for his 7th goal of the season at 16:44. LOVELAND, COLORADO – Sean Zimmerman scored twice and the Colorado Eagles erased a 2-1 first period deficit defeating the Alaska Aces 5-2 Friday at the Budweiser Events Center. Alaska got off to great start, playing with energy and taking a 1-0 lead on Mitch Jones 3rd goal of the season, a power play goal assisted by Peter Sivak and William Wrenn at 11:48. ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Emil Molin scored twice and goaltender Jack Campbell made 37 saves as the Idaho Steelheads downed the Alaska Aces 3-1 Saturday at the Sullivan Arena. It was the second consecutive regulation loss on home ice for the Aces, who were coming off a 4-0-2 road trip. Molin snapped home a loose puck past Aces netminder Troy Redmann at 6:25 of the first period with assists from Kyle Jean and Shawn Boutin to give Idaho a 1-0 lead. [READ MORE]

Campbell, Steelheads shut out Aces 2-0 Friday

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Idaho goaltender Jack Campbell made 34 saves, and Brandon Trook’s first period goal was all the Steelheads needed in a 2-0 win over the Alaska Aces Friday at the Sullivan Arena. Trook snapped a wrister from the right hash marks at 13:25 of the first period that got through Alaska goaltender Troy Redmann for his first goal of the season. Andrew Carroll got the lone assist. After a scoreless second period, Idaho got an insurance goal from Jefferson Dahl, his 16th, off an Alaska turnover at 11:29 of the third period. [READ MORE]
