ACES STOPPED BY STEWART, CONDORS 3-1

ACES WEAR DOWN CONDORS IN 4-1 WIN

The Aces scored four unanswered goals, including three in the third period to come from behind to beat the Bakersfield Condors 4-1 on Saturday night at Sullivan Arena.  The Aces have now won two straight over the Condors, and three straight overall.  Alaska improved to 24-15-2, and retained the highest winning percentage in the Mountain Division.  The Aces and Condors cap a three-game set on Sunday afternoon at 5:00pm.  Tickets are currently available. ACES FIGHT FOR 5-4 WIN OVER CONDORS

The much-anticipated rematch between the Alaska Aces and Bakersfield Condors lived up to the billing on Friday night as the Aces held on for a 5-4 win in a fight-filled affair.  Exactly two weeks after the clubs engaged in a physically taxing game in Bakersfield, the Aces exacted revenge as the teams combined for 214 penalty minutes, and a line brawl at the final buzzer.  Wes Goldie led all players with two goals, and Craig Gaudet’s first pro goal stood as the game winner as the Aces won their second straight and took the first game of this weekend’s three-game series.  The A [READ MORE]

BRANDON COCCIMIGLIO SIGNED BY ACES

ACES CROWN SALMON KINGS 6-1

Former Aces forward Ryan MacMurchy had two goals and goaltender David Shantz stopped 27 of 28 shots to lead the Victoria Salmon Kings past the Alaska Aces 4-1 on Friday night from the Sullivan Arena.  The Aces fell to 21-15-2 on the year, and saw their 11-game home point streak come to a close.  The Aces have lost a season-long, six straight games, and will look to exact revenge on Saturday night in a rematch with the Salmon Kings. The Alaska Aces, proud affiliate of the NHL’s St. Louis Blues and AHL’s Peoria Rivermen, have announced that defenseman Daryl Boyle was recalled by the Rivermen on Friday morning. Jamie Bates scored 27 seconds into overtime to hand the Aces their first defeat in a month as the Alaska Aces fell 3-2 to the Las Vegas Wranglers at Sullivan Arena on Friday night.  The Aces forced overtime with a late goal in regulation to extend their point streak to ten games, but their ECHL-best winning streak was snapped at nine.   The Aces dropped to 20-9-2 on the year, and 9-1-1 on their current home stand.  Alaska retained the top winning percentage in the conference following the overtime loss. GOLDIE LEADS ACES TO 5-3 WIN OVER REIGN

Wes Goldie’s second hat trick of the season helped the Alaska Aces start 2011 the same way they ended 2010 – with a win.  The Aces ran their ECHL-best winning streak to a league season-high, eight games in a 5-3 win over the Ontario Reign at Sullivan Arena on Saturday Night.  The Aces improved to 19-9-1 on the year, 8-1 on their current home stand, and swept the Reign for their third straight home sweep.  The Aces will return home for three games next week to conclude their home stand, as they welcome in the Las Vegas Wranglers for the first time this year.
