ACES FALL TO WRANGLERS 3-2 IN SHOOTOUT

Michael Ouzas made 33 saves and stopped all six shooters he faced in the shootout to lead the Las Vegas Wranglers to a 3-2 shootout win over the Alaska Aces on Sunday night from Sullivan Arena.  The Aces managed to take five of a possible six points in the three-game set, and have points in their last seven games and 10 of their last 11. ACES RELEASE JON HIGGINS

The Alaska Aces have released forward, Jon Higgins, Aces Head Coach, Brent Thompson announced on Saturday.  The 25-year old Higgins appeared in 11 games for Alaska after being signed in early February.  The Stratham, NH native played in three games for Cincinnati in the ECHL and 16 games for Knoxville of the SPHL before being acquired by the Aces. ACES BEAT WRANGLERS IN OVERTIME 4-3

Chris Langkow notched his first professional hat trick, and Garry Nunn finished off a three-point night with a goal 20 seconds into overtime to give the Alaska Aces a 4-3 overtime win over the Las Vegas Wranglers in front of a sellout crowd of 6,426 at Sullivan Arena on Friday night.  The Aces win moved them into a share of first place in the Western Conference, and extended their league-best winning streak to six games.  Alaska improved to 33-19-3 on the year.  The Aces and Wranglers return on Sunday night to conclude their three-game series.  Tickets are on sale now.&n [READ MORE]

ACES HOLD OFF WRANGLERS 4-3

In a battle of the two division leaders in the Western Conference, the Alaska Aces held off a late charge to slip past the Las Vegas Wranglers 4-3 on Thursday night at Sullivan Arena in Anchorage.  The Aces extended their winning streak to five games, and won for the eighth time in the last nine games.  They extended their lead atop the Mountain Division, and moved within one point of Las Vegas for the Conference lead. ACES OUTLAST STEELHEADS 6-5 IN SHOOTOUT

The Alaska Aces overcame a two-goal, third period deficit, and killed off three late overlapping penalties to outlast the Idaho Steelheads 6-5 in a shootout on Saturday night at the Qwest Arena in Boise, ID.  The Aces win completed a four-game road sweep against division rivals Utah and Idaho, and was their seventh win in the last eight games.  The Aces extended their lead to three points over Utah, while keeping two games in hand, for first place in the Mountain Division. ALASKA GETS KISSEL FROM GWINNETT

GOLDIE MAKES ECHL HISTORY IN ACES 3-1 VICTORY

Wes Goldie scored his 316th ECHL goal in his 600th ECHL game, moving into 5th place all-time in both categories, as his two-point night helped the Alaska Aces beat the Victoria Salmon Kings 3-1 on Saturday evening.  The Aces improved to 25-18-3 on the year, and snapped a franchise-worst, eight-game road losing skid.  Goldie’s milestone night came in Victoria, where he had spent the last four seasons, and left as the franchise’s all-time leading goal scorer.  The Aces will now return home for three games on Feb.
