ACES ANNOUNCE 2011-2012 SEASON SCHEDULE

The Alaska Aces will begin their Kelly Cup Championship defense by hosting the Las Vegas Wranglers on Friday, October 14 in their 2011-2012 ECHL season opener at Sullivan Arena, the Aces announced on Wednesday.  The announcement comes as part of the full season schedule release by the Aces.  On October 14, the Aces will unveil their 2011 Kelly Cup Championship Banner before they drop the puck on the new season.  The ceremony will come along with other Banner presentations from their record-breaking championship campaign. ECHL WELCOMES COLORADO EAGLES TO LEAGUE

ACES’ BURKHEAD NAMED ECHL EQUIPMENT MANAGER OF THE YEAR

Mike Burkhead of the Alaska Aces is the 2010-11 recipient of the ECHL Equipment Manager of the Year Award, presented by Reebok Hockey, the Aces and ECHL announced on Wednesday.  This is the first Equipment Manager of the Year Award in Mike’s career, and comes in his third season with the Aces.  The winner is determined in a vote of the league’s equipment managers and athletic trainers. ALASKA SWEEPS VICTORIA TO WIN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
