POLACEK RECALLED TO PEORIA

Rookie forward Chase Polacek (poh-LAH-check) has been recalled to the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League, Aces Head Coach Rob Murray announced on Monday.  Polacek was assigned to the Aces last Wednesday and appeared in two games for Alaska over the weekend.  The Aces begin a six-game home stand on Wednesday night when they host the Bakersfield Condors for the first of three games. ALASKA COMES UP SHORT IN 2-1 LOSS IN UTAH

ACES FALL TO GRIZZLIES 3-2

ACES PARTNER FOR FOOD DRIVE TO BENEFIT LOCAL MILITARY

The Alaska Aces have partnered with Anchorage Media Group and Specialty Truck & Auto to sponsor a two-week long food drive to benefit the Armed Services YMCA of Alaska’s Food Pantry for local military, from October 24 through November 5.  Non-perishable food items and diapers are currently being accepted at the Aces Office, the Anchorage Media Group office, or Specialty Truck & Auto. Canned goods are also being accepted at the next Aces home series on November 2nd, 4th and 5th when the Aces host the Bakersfield Condors. [READ MORE]

ACES RECEIVE POLACEK FROM PEORIA

The Alaska Aces have received forward Chase Polacek (poh-LAH-check) on assignment from the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League, Aces Head Coach Rob Murray announced on Wednesday.  Polacek is a rookie who joins the team immediately, and is expected to make his Aces and ECHL debut on Friday night in Utah.  The Aces head on the road for the first time this weekend when they visit the Utah Grizzlies on Friday and Saturday night. Alaska Aces forward Dan Kissel has been loaned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League, Aces Head Coach Rob Murray announced on Tuesday.  Kissel is currently tied for the ECHL lead in goal scoring, and will make his AHL debut this weekend when the Sound Tigers begin a five-game home stand on Friday.  The Aces head on the road for the first time this weekend when they visit the Utah Grizzlies on Friday and Saturday night. ACES COMPLETE SWEEP WITH 4-1 WIN OVER EAGLES

Chris Bruton scored twice, and the Alaska Aces powered through a physical ending for a 4-1 win over the Colorado Eagles on Wednesday night to complete a two-game sweep of the pre-season schedule.  The Aces finished the exhibition season with a 2-0 record, and surrendered a combined two goals and 38 shots.  The regular season begins on Friday, October 14 when the Las Vegas Wranglers visit Anchorage. THREE RETURN TO ACES FROM AHL CAMP

The 2011 Kelly Cup Champion Alaska Aces have received three players back from AHL Training Camps, Aces Head Coach, Rob Murray announced on Monday.  Returning forward Ethan Cox, along with rookie forward Chris Bruton and rookie goaltender Andrew Hayes joined the Aces on Monday morning to resume training camp, after beginning the camp with the Aces AHL affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.   The Aces will play their pre-season exhibition games with a pair of contests against the Colorado Eagles on Tuesday and Wednesday at Sullivan Arena, promoting cancer awareness.
