ALASKA COMPLETES SWEEP OF SAN FRANCISCO WITH 3-2 WIN

The Alaska Aces jumped out to an early lead and held off a late San Francisco Bulls charge to complete a three-game sweep with a 3-2 win on Sunday afternoon at Sullivan Arena.  The Aces outscored the Bulls 12-5 on the weekend, and upped their winning streak to four games.  Alaska improved their record to 5-2 on the year.  The Aces now hit the road for a five-game road trip beginning Saturday night in Stockton. DUBINSKY’S HAT TRICK LEADS ACES TO 5-2 WIN OVER BULLS

Brandon Dubinsky scored on the first shift of the game as part of a three-goal night and the Alaska Aces led for all but 31 seconds on Saturday night in a 5-2 win over the San Francisco Bulls from Sullivan Arena.  The Aces erupted for their second straight, four-goal third period and their third in six games this year.  Alaska improved their record to 4-2 with the win.  The Aces finish the three-game series with the Bulls on Sunday afternoon at 3:05pm.  It’s a Fred Meyer skate with the Aces event immediately following the game. THIRD PERIOD FLURRY LEADS ACES PAST BULLS 4-1

Four different Alaska Aces scored in a third period onslaught on that helped the Aces come back to beat the San Francisco Bulls 4-1 on Friday night in the first ever meeting between the two clubs.  12 of Alaska’s 14 goals this season have come in the third period, and Friday’s third period was the second four-goal third this season for the Aces.  Alaska improved their record to 3-2 with the win and snapped San Francisco’s four-game point streak. ACES PARTNER IN FOOD DRIVE TO BENEFIT LOCAL MILITARY

The Alaska Aces have partnered with Specialty Truck & Auto and the Anchorage Media Group to sponsor a week-long food drive to benefit the Armed Services YMCA of Alaska’s Food Pantry for local military, from October 22 through October 28.  Non-perishable food items and diapers are currently being accepted at the Aces Office, Specialty Truck & Auto, and the Anchorage Media Group office. Canned goods are also being accepted at the next Aces home series on October 26, 27, and 28 when the Aces host the expansion San Francisco Bulls. [READ MORE]

GUGGENBERGER, HALTIGIN HELP ACES BLANK GRIZZLIES 1-0

NHLers DUBINSKY, CRABB, THOMPSON TO PLAY FOR ACES DURING LOCKOUT

The Alaska Aces have confirmed that their Paint the Rink Pink exhibition games will take place at Sullivan Arena on Monday and Tuesday, October 8 and 9.  Ice has begun to go in at Sullivan Arena and both games will be played as originally scheduled.  The Aces host the Las Vegas Wranglers at 7:15pm with a portion of the ticket sales going to benefit the local fight against breast cancer. The Alaska Aces have added NHL star forward Brandon Dubinsky to their 2012 training camp roster, Aces Head Coach Rob Murray announced on Monday.  Dubinsky signed a professional tryout agreement (PTO) with the club and is taking his first practice with the team Monday morning at Ben Boeke Ice Rink.  He joins fellow NHL forwards Scott Gomez, Joey Crabb, and Nate Thompson in Aces camp.
