DAVIES BACK FROM ABBOTSFORD

The Alaska Aces, proud ECHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League, announced today that the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League have reassigned defenseman Zach Davies to the Aces. Abbotsford is the AHL affiliate of the Aces and Flames. Davies, 25, returns with 17 points (7g-10a) and a +7 rating in 31 games with the Aces, leaving for Abbotsford on Mar. 3 ranking second among Aces defensemen in scoring. Alex Hudson’s game winning goal with 31.9 seconds left in regulation helped the Colorado Eagles sneak by the Alaska Aces (45-19-7, 97 points), 3-2 before a sellout crowd of 5,289 at Budweiser Events Center on Saturday. Nick Mazzolini and Peter Sivak helped the Alaska Aces (44-19-7, 95 points) rally from a two goal deficit in the third period but Dustin Butler’s stop on Jordan Morrison in the eighth round helped the Colorado Eagles send the Aces to a 5-4 shootout defeat at Budweiser Events Center on Wednesday.
