Fournier, Summerhays lead Aces past Evansville 4-1

ANCHORAGE, AK – Defenseman Gleason Fournier scored two goals and goaltender Steven Summerhays made 26 saves to lead the Alaska Aces to a 4-1 victory Saturday over the Evansville IceMen at the Sullivan Arena. Fournier gave Alaska (6-11-0-2) a 1-0 lead with a first period backhand rebound goal off a shot from Justin Breton. It was Fournier’s third goal of the season. Evansville ices Aces 4-2 Friday night with big second period

ANCHORAGE, AK – The Evansville Icemen scored three straight goals in the second period, erasing a 2-1 Alaska lead, and went on to defeat the Aces 4-2 Friday night at the Sullivan Arena. Alaska led 1-0 after one period on Tyler Maxwell’s one-timer off a William Wrenn pass on the power play. MOLINE, ILLINOIS – Two third period power play goals turned a Quad City deficit into a lead, and an empty-netter sealed the deal as the Mallards came back to defeat the Alaska Aces 4-2 Friday at the iWireless Center in Moline. Huge second period carries visiting Aces past Evansville 6-2

EVANSVILLE, INDIANA – The Alaska Aces rode a huge second period scoring burst, highlighted by Garet Hunt’s two goals, and cruised to a 6-2 victory over the Evansville Icemen Wednesday at the Ford Center Justin Breton opened the scoring for the Aces at 14:01 of the first period with his 7th goal of the season. Breton broke into the Evansville zone and muscled his way to the low right wing circle. Cincinnati downs Alaska 3-1 Tuesday morning

CINCINNATI, OHIO –The Cincinnati Cyclones scored one goal in each period as they defeated the Alaska Aces 3-1 in front of a kids Field Trip Day of over 6,000 at the US Bank Arena in downtown Cincinnati. Christian Minella got the Cyclones going scoring wise after an evenly-played first period. He took a splendid centering pass from Nick Huard out of the left corner and snapped a wrister from the slot  top shelf, glove side past Alaska goaltender Troy Redmann at 19:20. Maxwell scores twice but Aces drop shootout

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – Tyler Maxwell scored twice to get the Aces to overtime, but Alaska lost in a shootout to the Indy Fuel 4-3 Saturday at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum. Maxwell scored on a sharp angle from the right wing corner just 1:19 into the first period to give the Aces (4-8-0-2) the lead. That lead lasted until the 8:09 mark of the period when Kyle Stroh pushed a short range rebound of his shot through the pads of Troy Redmann into the net. [READ MORE]

MOLINE, ILLINOIS – Former Aces Raphael Bussieres and Olivier Archambault haunted their old team, and goaltender Brody Hoffman made 29 saves as the Quad City Mallards defeated Alaska 7-4 Wednesday night at the iWireless Center. ANCHORAGE, AK – Charles Sarnault scored on a rebound with 1:03 to go in the third period, and the Utah Grizzlies rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Alaska Aces 3-2 Saturday night at the Sullivan Arena. A Military Appreciation Night crowd of 6, 166 saw the Aces take a 1-0 first period lead on Tim Coffman’s first goal of the season. ANCHORAGE, AK – Ryan Misiak turned a neutral zone turnover into a breakaway goal at 13:37 of the third period to break a 1-1 tie, and Utah went on to a 4-1 victory over Alaska Friday at the Sullivan Arena. After a scoreless first period, Utah’s Shane Taker one-timed a pass into a long distance goal at 17:25 of the second period that Aces netminder Troy Redmann didn’t see until the puck was flying by him. ANCHORAGE, AK – The Utah Grizzlies got 2 goals from Matt Berry and 28 saves from Ryan Faragher as they defeated the Aces 4-2 Wednesday night at the Sullivan Arena. The Aces fought off an early Utah attack with strong goaltending from Troy Redmann, then scored the game’s first goal as Justin Breton whacked in a rebound of a Ben Lake shot at 3:33 to make it 1-0 Alaska.
