Marotta, Rush shut out Aces 2-0 Saturday night

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Max Nicastro and Mark Miller scored goals, and goaltender Sam Marotta stopped 30 shots for the shutout as Rapid City edged Alaska 2-0 Saturday night at the Sullivan Arena. The Rush salvage the final game of the three game series…Alaska winning 6-5 in a shootout Thursday and 3-2 in regulation Friday. Hafner, Aces take down Rapid City 3-2 Friday

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Ben Lake had the game-winning goal in the second period, goaltender Lukas Hafner stopped 24 shots for his first professional win, and the Alaska Aces held off the Rapid City Rush 3-2 Friday night at the Sullivan Arena. The Aces got off to a great start as Tommaso Traversa sniped a bar-down lazer past Rush goaltender Danny Battochio at the 11:50 mark of period 1. Tony Deluca and Lake assisted. Aces win another shootout, down Rapid City 6-5 Thursday

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Tony Deluca scored the only goal of the shootout, and goaltender Jacob DeSerres won his 4th straight shootout as the Alaska Aces downed the Rapid City Rush 6-5 Thursday night at the Sullivan Arena. Aces rookie forward Alec Hajdukovich scored his first professional goal on his first professional shot at 2:44 of the opening period. Aces leave Allen with a shootout win in their pocket

ALLEN, TEXAS – Ben Lake’s shootout goal, after six previous shooters missed, gave the Alaska Aces a 2-1 victory over the Allen Americans Friday night at the Allen Civic Center. The Americans took a 1-0 lead at the 6:27 mark of the first period on Vincent Arsenault’s 10th goal of the season. Arsenault threw a check in the left wing corner, spun off the check and promptly received a pass from Chad Costello out of that corner. WICHITA, KANSAS – Peter Sivak scored once and had 3 assists, Stephen Perfetto had two power play goals and goaltender Jacob DeSerres stopped 38 shots as the Alaska Aces downed the homestanding Wichita Thunder 4-2 at the Intrust Bank Arena Tuesday. In a first period dominated territorially by the Aces, they finally broke through with a power play goal at 10:56. Perfetto snapped home a shot after passes from William Wrenn and Peter Sivak. Komets beat up Aces 8-2 Saturday night

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Mason Baptista had a hat trick, Trevor Cheek scored twice and the Fort Wayne Komets dominated the Alaska Aces 8-2 Saturday at the Sullivan Arena. The Komets win kept the Aces from sweeping the three-game series. Alaska won in overtime Wednesday and in a shootout Friday. Fort Wayne’s scoring started early and ended late. The Komets took a 4-1 first period lead on goals by former UAA winger Paul Crowder, Jordan Southern and two from Baptista. ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Tony Deluca and Marc-Andre Levesque scored shootout goals, and goaltender Jacob DeSerres stopped 16 shots along the way to help the Alaska Aces down the Fort Wayne Komets 5-4 Friday at the Sullivan Arena. Nothing boring about this game as the final moments brought agony , relief and joy to both teams. After ceremonies commemorating Alaska’s Garet Hunt’s 500th professional game, the Komets took a quick 2-0 lead on goals by Shawn Szydlowski and Mason Baptista at :48 seconds and 4:11 respectively in the first period. ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Stephen Perfetto’s goal with just 1:38 to go in overtime gave the Alaska Aces a 3-2 win Wednesday over the Fort Wayne Komets at the Sullivan Arena. Perfetto’s heroics came after the Aces had lost a 2-0 second period lead in the third. Aces sign Canadian college forward Christian Finch

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA -The Alaska Aces have announced that forward Christian Finch will join the club off after being signed out of the University of Toronto.Aces President of Hockey Operations and Head Coach Rob Murray made the announcement Tuesday.A native of Unionville, ONT, the 6-foot-0, 185-pound foward played in 63 games for the University of Toronto (CIS). Finch collected 57 points (19g, 38a) and 44 penalty minutes. He played one season at Clarkson University (NCAA) prior to his time in Toronto. [READ MORE]

BOISE, IDAHO – Joe Basaraba, for the second night in a row, scored the game-winning goal in the third period, and goaltender Phillippe Derosier stopped 26 Alaska shots as the Idaho Steelheads edged the Aces 2-1 Saturday at the CenturyLink Arena. A scoreless first period of play saw both teams with opportunities, but not necessarily dangerous opportunities. BOISE, IDAHO - Joe Basaraba tipped a slap pass from Shawn Boutin into the Alaska net in the third period on the powerplay to give the Idaho Steelheads the lead on their way to a 5-3 win over the Aces Friday at the CenturyLink Arena.Idaho drew first blood with a 2 on 1 break at the 8:26 mark of the first period. Jake Fallon took the puck up the left wing into the Aces zone and took Andrew Carrol wth him on the right. Dahl's goal in overtime sends Idaho over Aces 4-3 Wednesday

BOISE, IDAHO – Jefferson Dahl snuck behind the Alaska defense and scored just 13 seconds into the overtime period as the Idaho Steelheads took a 4-3 victory from the Alaska Aces at the CenturyLink Arena in Boise. Dahl’s shot deflected off the blocker of Aces goaltender Jacob DeSerres and into the air. DeSerres couldn’t locate the puck and it dropped just in front of the crossbar, on the goal line and trickled into the net for the game-winner. [READ MORE]
