Sivak overtime goal gives Aces a thrilling 5-4 win over Rush

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Peter Sivak banged in a rebound of his own shot 16 seconds into overtime, and Alaska fired 59 shots on goal as the Aces snagged a 5-4 victory over the Rapid City Rush Sunday afternoon at the Sullivan Arena. The overtime was necessary after the Aces lost a 4-2 lead late in regulation. Aces flat in 5-1 loss to Rapid City Saturday night

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Former Aces forward Ryan Walters tormented his old team, and the Rapid City Rush got their first win of the season 5-1 over a flat Alaska Aces team Saturday night at the Sullivan Arena. Walters scored the first two goals of the game, a rebound goal at 3:17 of the first period followed by a power play strike at 1:56 of the second. High-flying offense and stifling defense lead Aces past Rush in home opener

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – A high-flying offense and suffocating defense for the first two periods propelled the Alaska Aces past the Rapid City Rush 6-3 Friday night at the Sullivan Arena. Peter Sivak scored twice and assisted on two other goals while Aces goaltender Michael Garteig picked up his second win of the season. Kunyk recalled by Utica, Descoteaux claimed off waivers

  ANCHORAGE, ALASKA - The Utica Comets, AHL affiliate of the ECHL Alaska Aces and NHL Vancouver Canucks, have recalled forward Cody Kunyk from the Aces.In a separate transaction, the Aces have claimed defenseman Nolan Descoteaux off waivers from the Allen Americans.Kunyk, 26, played in both Aces games this past weekend at Colorado...a 2-0 loss Friday and a 5-2 victory Saturday. LOVELAND, CO. - Tim Coffman and Stephen Perfetto each scored two goals, goaltender Michael Garteig made 36 saves and Rob Murray earned his 200th regular season win behind the Alaska bench as the Aces bounced back from a season-opening loss with a resounding 5-2 victory over the homestanding Colorado Eagles at the Budweiser Events Center.Another rough and tumble first period, but Alaska drew first blood with Coffman's first goal of the season at 7:03. Aces battle hard in season-opener but fall 2-0 to Eagles in Colorado

LOVELAND, CO. - Kent Simpson stopped 26 shots and Jesse Mychan scored the game-winning goal in the second period as the Colorado Eagles downed the Alaska Aces 2-0 Friday night at the Budweiser Events Center. It was the Aces first game of the season, Colorado's third. The game took on a physical tone from the start but offered no goals. Both goaltenders, Simpson of the Eagles and Aces netminder Kevin Carr were good and the first period shots favored Alaska 9-7. Most of the second period was tight hockey. [READ MORE]

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA - Travis Jeke took a pass from Scott Tanski after an Aces turnover and fired a one-timer into the net that proved to be the game winner in South Carolina's 3-1 victory over Alaska Tuesday night.The exhibition win was the Stingrays second over the Aces after Monday night's 4-3 overtime win.South Carolina opened the scoring at 4:24 of the first period. ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Patrick Gaul’s wrist shot from the left face-off dot at 53 seconds of overtime gave the visiting South Carolina Stingrays a 4-3 victory over the Alaska Aces in a Monday night exhibition game at the Sullivan Arena. The Stingrays opened a 3-1 third period lead before the Aces stormed back to tie it in regulation.
