Rapid City drew first blood in the first period. Ex-Ace Ryan Walters took a loose puck through the neutral zone and with a step on the defense, slid a shot through Alaska netminder Kevin Carr and into the net for his ninth goal of the season, unassisted. Aces win in shootout 2-1 at Missouri

INDEPENDENCE, MISSOURI – Danny Moynihan and Tim Wallace scored shootout goals, and goaltender Kevin Carr stopped 23 shots as the Alaska Aces edged the Missouri Mavericks 2-1 in a shootout Saturday at the Silverstein Eye Clinics Arena. Czarnowczan goal gives Toledo 5-4 win over Aces Sunday

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Scott Czarnowczan scored with 1:57 to go in the third period, breaking a 4-4 tie and giving the Toledo Walleye a 5-4 win over the Alaska Aces Sunday at the Sullivan Arena. The goal overshadowed a two-goal game for Aces forward Stephen Perfetto and Peter Sivak’s league-leading 20th goal of the season. The Walleye scored first at 14:41 of the first period when Tylor Spink intercepted a long break-out pass from the Alaska zone and busted in on the right wing. His wrister beat Aces goaltender Kevin Carr for a short-handed tally. [READ MORE]

Aces scorers shoot for the stars on Star Wars Night, win 8-6

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Offense was the name of the game Saturday night at the Sullivan Arena as Peter Sivak got a hat trick, Justin Breton scored twice and the Alaska Aces held off the Toledo Walleye 8-6 in front of over 4500 for Star Wars night. With the win, Alaska extends its consecutive game point streak to 10 games. Stephen Perfetto started the scoring party at 31 seconds of the first period, banging in a Sivak centering pass after a mishandled puck by Walleye goaltender Cal Heeter. Perfetto tallies twice but Aces drop shootout Friday to Toledo

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – Stephen Perfetto scored two goals in his return from the AHL, Peter Sivak had a goal and an assist, but the Toledo Walleye skated away with the extra point in a 20-man shootout, winning 4-3 over Alaska Friday night at the Sullivan Arena. Despite the loss, the Aces picked up an ECHL point to stretch their consecutive game point streak to 9. Aces get point, lose shootout at Idaho Saturday

BOISE, IDAHO – The Alaska Aces stretched their consecutive game point streak to 8, but the Idaho Steelheads won the game 3-2 in a shootout Saturday at the CenturyLink Arena in Boise. The Aces played a tough first period, and got on the board at 8:15. An attempted clearing pass by Idaho ended up on the stick of Aces defenseman Steve Tarasuk at the right point. He hesitated, waiting for traffic to clear a bit, then rifled a shot through the remaining legs and sticks and through Steelheads goaltender Branden Komm into the net. Basaraba goal in OT dooms Aces Friday in Idaho

BOISE, IDAHO – Joe Basaraba’s re-direct goal off a pass from Joe Faust with 49.9 seconds to go in overtime gave the homestanding Idaho Steelheads at 2-1 win over the Alaska Aces Friday night at the CenturyLink Arena. The OT loss stops the Aces win streak at 6, though Alaska did pick up a point for taking the game to the extra period. An evenly-played first period yielded no goals and a handful of scoring opportunities. Despite being outshot 14-6, the Aces had about the same amount of dangerous moments as the Steelheads around the opposition net. [READ MORE]
