ACES ANNOUNCE REVISED 2005-06 SCHEDULE
36 home games remain intact; road slate sees minor modifications
Alaska Aces Press Release

Anchorage, AK - The Alaska Aces still will start the 2005-06 season with six consecutive games at home, but have seen their road schedule altered slightly as a result of the devastating hurricanes that have struck the Gulf Coast.

The Mississippi Sea Wolves, and more recently the Texas Wildcatters, have been granted voluntary suspensions by the ECHL under the league's hardship provisions. Both teams are expected to return in 2006-07, and both teams had been on Alaska's schedule, with the Aces originally set to embark on a trip to the Southeast during the first week of November. That trip has been replaced by the first games between Alaska and Utah, now based in the ECHL after several years in the International Hockey League and the American Hockey League. Those games have been scheduled for the "E" Center November 4 and 5 at 5:05 p.m. AST. The Grizzlies will make their Anchorage debut November 29-30 and return for a three-game set March 1-4.

Alaska's lone trip to Idaho has been moved from the Thanksgiving holiday to shortly after the trek to Salt Lake City. The Aces and Steelheads will meet in the opener of a three-game series in Boise November 9, with the other two games set for the 11th and 12th. All three games will begin at 5:05 p.m. AST. The other two changes in the road schedule involves an additional game at Phoenix, slated for a 5:15 p.m. AST face-off January 10, and an additional game at Las Vegas Tuesday, February 7 at 6:05 p.m. AST.

Among Alaska's 36 home games are 27 scheduled for the weekend, including three Saturday afternoon tilts (all 2:05 p.m. starts) and five Sunday matinee games, featuring the popular post-game KeyBank "Skate with the Aces." Aces fans will get their first look at the Stockton Thunder in a three-game series set for January 18-21 and the Roadrunners February 10-12.

In addition, Alaska will welcome the Augusta Lynx to Sullivan Arena for the first time ever January 28-29. The Aces play one home game each on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, with six games slated for Wednesday night. All night games will begin at 7:15 p.m. while Sunday afternoon contests will start at 5:05 p.m.

The Alaska Aces open the 2005-06 regular season Friday, October 21, at 7:15 p.m. against the San Diego Gulls. All games, home and away, will be broadcast live on KFQD AM 750 and at alaskaaces.com. For 2005-06 season ticket information, please call 258-ACES.
