2004-05: Scored the eventual game-winner in 5-3 victory at Vegas 11/9. Established new career-bests for points and assists. Scored shorthanded goal in Game 1 of the National Conference Finals, a 6-0 win over Trenton May 3. 2003-04: Louis scored his first goal of the year 1/10/04 to snap a 2-2 tie with San Diego at 13:09 of the final period, giving Alaska an eventual 4-2 win. The Aces acquired Mass in July 2003 from the Louisiana Ice Gators in exchange for cash considerations and scored a career-high three goals. He scored his first two goals as a pro during the 2002-03 season with Louisiana, adding six assists and 80 penalty minutes for a club that finished with the second-highest point total in the Southern Conference. Mass began last season in a Pee Dee Pride uniform, performing under the watchful eye of his new coach in Alaska, Davis Payne. He played a full year under Payne in 2001-02, registering 99 PIM as a rookie and appearing in all nine of the Pride’s playoff contests. Mass left Anchorage, where he played for three years while enrolled at Dimond High School, to attend Bowling Green University in Ohio, an NCAA Division I school where he suited up in 140 games between 1997-2001. Prior to joining the Falcons, he spent two seasons in the United States Hockey League at the junior level. Mass notched 14 points (1g-13a) and rolled up 111 PIM during the 1996-97 regular season and added another goal and 37 PIM in the playoffs, helping lead the Lincoln Stars to the Clark Cup as champions of the USHL.
